Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has been one of the Democrats who has been solely focused on obstructing President Trump’s agenda. Following his role in shutting down the Obamacare repeal in the Senate, Schumer is now targeting members of Trump’s team.
Senator Schumer is calling on Trump to block the sale of Skybridge Capital – an investment firm founded by former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci – which would cost Scaramucci $50 million.
Under the disguise of caring politician, Schumer sent a letter to Trump on Tuesday asking him to block major Chinese investments in the United States. He suggested it as a way to ‘punish’ China for its lack of action against the ever more hostile North Korea.
This move would hit Scaramucci’s company which is currently pending sale to the Chinese conglomerate HNA Group, reports Christian News Alerts.
After only six days, Scaramucci, a self-made billionaire worth $1.5 billion, recently stepped down from his position as White House communications director.
Schumer claimed that his letter to Trump has nothing to do with Scaramucci, but is a way of pressuring China to take greater action against North Korea. However, we all know that Schumer is just being vindictive and trying to score cheap political points with the Democratic Party’s base.
“The robust China-North Korea economic and trade relationship makes it clear that China could exercise considerable leverage over the North Korean regime to alter course, but that far from trying to do so China’s leaders would prefer to contain the problem – not solve it,” Schumer wrote in the letter.
Tensions between the US and North Korea are at an all-time high due to the continued efforts of the Kim Jong-un regime to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of reaching America.
