A disturbing trend has swept the NFL that has seen players kneel during the national anthem to protest race relations in the U.S. Now, this move to disrespect our nation has come back to bite one of these players in a huge way.
Antonio Cromartie of the Indianapolis Colts was reportedly just cut from the team for kneeling and raising his fist during the national anthem. The owner of the team reportedly did this because he feels the NFL is the “wrong venue” for protesting.
This comes after President Donald Trump blasted players for kneeling during the national anthem and encouraged fans to boycott the NFL until they stop.
“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b*tch off the field right now, out, he’s fired. He’s fired!’,” Trump said. “You know, some owner is gonna do that. He’s gonna say, ‘That guy disrespects our flag, he’s fired.’ And that owner, they don’t know it. They don’t know it. They’re friends of mine, many of them. They don’t know it. They’ll be the most popular person, for a week. They’ll be the most popular person in this country.”
“When the NFL ratings are down massively, massively. The NFL ratings are down massively,” he added. “Now the number one reason happens to be they like watching what’s happening .. .with yours truly. They like what’s happening. Because you know today if you hit too hard: 15 yards! Throw him out of the game! They had that last week.”
