Trump Gave Kim Jong-Un A Warning That Stopped Him Dead In His Tracks

news, politics, world

Kim Jong-Un made a big mistake.

He thought Donald Trump was just like Barack Obama.

But after Trump delivered one warning the North Korean Supreme Leader quickly realized he made a major mistake.

At a recent photo-op with military leaders before dinner, Trump delivered a warning that many took as being aimed at Kim Jong-Un.

Trump declared this was the calm before the storm.

When asked what he meant, Trump said the press would have to wait and see.

Politico reported:

“PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP ISSUED AN UNPROMPTED, CRYPTIC MESSAGE THURSDAY AFTER MEETING WITH MILITARY OFFICIALS AT THE WHITE HOUSE, SAYING ABOUT THE GATHERING, “MAYBE IT’S THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM.”

“WE HAVE THE WORLD’S GREAT MILITARY LEADERS IN THIS ROOM,” TRUMP SAID TO REPORTERS AFTER UTTERING HIS REMARK DURING A PHOTO-OP IN THE CABINET ROOM OF THE WHITE HOUSE.

PRESSED ON WHAT HE MEANT, THE PRESIDENT SAID, “YOU’LL FIND OUT.”

THE PRESIDENT PARTICIPATED IN A BRIEFING THURSDAY EVENING WITH SENIOR MILITARY LEADERS AND THEIR SPOUSES, ACCORDING TO A SCHEDULE RELEASED BY THE WHITE HOUSE.”

Trump’s remarks come on the heels of a CIA analyst warning that North Korea may be set for their most provocative move ever on Columbus Day.

U.S. News reported:

“A TOP CIA OFFICIAL FOR THE KOREAN PENINSULA WARNED WEDNESDAY THAT THE U.S. SHOULD BE READY FOR A NEW PROVOCATION BY NORTH KOREA ON COLUMBUS DAY ON OCT. 9, WHICH COINCIDES WITH THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE POLITICAL PARTY THAT GOVERNS IN PYONGYANG.

“STAND BY YOUR PHONES,” YONG SUK LEE, DEPUTY ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF THE CIA’S KOREA MISSION CENTER, SAID WHILE SPEAKING AT A CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY THE AGENCY AT THE GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY.

LEE DID NOT SPECULATE WHAT NORTH KOREA MIGHT DO, THOUGH IT FREQUENTLY CARRIES OUT MISSILE LAUNCHES OR NUCLEAR TESTS ON MAJOR STATE ANNIVERSARIES, SUCH AS THE BIRTHDAY OF LEADER KIM JONGUN OR OTHER DATES ASSOCIATED WITH THE LIVES OF HIS FATHER OR GRANDFATHER. OCT. 10 MARKS THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE WORKERS’ PARTY OF KOREA IN 1945.

TENSIONS WITH NORTH KOREA HAVE REACHED NEW EXTREMES IN RECENT WEEKS, FOLLOWING MONTHS OF INCREASED WEAPONS TESTS COMBINED WITH NEW U.S. APPRAISALS THAT PYONGYANG IS CLOSE TO PERFECTING OR PERHAPS ALREADY HAS MADE AN INTERCONTINENTAL BALLISTIC MISSILE THAT CAN CARRY A NUCLEAR WARHEAD AND HIT TARGETS ACCURATELY.

LEE ADDED THAT PYONGYANG HISTORICALLY HAS BEEN CONTROLLED BY ITS FEAR OF THE CHINESE ABANDONING ITS SUPPORT FOR THE HERMIT KINGDOM, OR THAT THE U.S. WOULD CARRY OUT A MILITARY STRIKE. KIM JONG-UN NO LONGER HAS THOSE FEARS, LEE SAID.”

Was Trump’s comment meant to warn the North Koreans they faced a stern U.S. response and not to mess around with a live fire nuclear test over the Pacific Ocean?

Some experts believe that is what he was doing.

One White House official – but one who does not attend NSC meetings and would not know about secret operations or possible responses to a North Korean nuclear test – told Axios’ Jonathan Swan that Trump was trolling the press.

Either way, Trump is presenting a stern, but unpredictable front to Kim Jong-Un.

If he is unsure how Trump will react, he may be less likely to push past the point of no return.
