Bill O’Reilly Responds To Latest NY Times ‘Smear Piece’ About Massive Sexual Misconduct

culture, news

The New York Times recently reported that Bill O’ Reilly paid $32 million dollars to a fellow Fox News colleague Lis Wiehl who had threatened to sue him for sexual misconduct. AND THEN Fox News decided to extend his contract.

O’Reilly can’t be that good. No one can.

Wrong is wrong. And O’Reilly is so disgustingly wrong.

But, it’s true. Fox News offered him a 4-year $100 million contract.

That contract is worth about three more sexual harassment settlements.

A decent offer in O’Reilly’s eyes.

CNN Money reports:

O’Reilly lost his job at Fox in April after The Times revealed the existence of other settlements with women who had accused him of sexual harassment or verbal abuse.

The $32 million payout to Wiehl is far, far higher than any of the previously known settlements. Two sources confirmed the $32 million figure to CNN on condition of anonymity.

The new Times story comes at a time when O’Reilly is actively seeking a new TV commentary job — meaning he could be challenging Fox. His camp believes the leaks about the Wiehl settlement might be coming from Fox to hurt him.

“The Times printed leaked information provided by anonymous sources that is out of context, false, defamatory, and obviously designed to embarrass Bill O’Reilly and to keep him from competing in the marketplace,” O’Reilly’s spokesman Mark Fabiani said in a statement on Saturday.

O’Reilly responded to these reports and considered them “unsubstantiated” and “incomplete” claims from “anonymous sources”.

According to The Blaze:

O’Reilly, through spokesman Mark Fabiani, said that the Times “maliciously smeared” him and chose to ignore facts and only relied on “unsubstantiated allegations, anonymous sources and incomplete, leaked or stolen documents.”

The TV host said the story is “out of context, false, defamatory, and obviously designed to embarrass” him and keep him from competing for future TV contracts. He also explained:

The Times failed to print the affidavit showing the woman at the center of the Times’ story signed repudiating her claims against O’Reilly. O’Reilly did show it.

All of the facts surrounding the sexual misconduct scandal at Fox News

That Fox News upped O’Reilly’s contact toward the beginning of 2017 despite knowing the allegations against him.

The Times has a history of printing stories that O’Reilly and his counsel cannot correct due to legally bound confidentiality agreements.

And: “Finally, in the more than 20 years Bill O’Reilly worked at Fox News, not one complaint was filed against him with the Human Resources Department or Legal Department by a coworker, even on the anonymous hotline. The New York Times has copies of two letters written by 21st Century Fox lawyers attesting to that fact.”

I’m not sure what combination of narcissism, psychopathy and Machiavellianism O’ Reilly has but it is terrifying.

Who has the testicular fortitude and/or lack of intellect to call out The New York Times and challenge their story in the face of volumes of evidence?

What is his deal?

Although sexual harassment cases are incredibly serious, I’m more concerned about what is going on in O’Reilly’s brain that makes him think he transcends morality and law.

What are your thoughts?
