Days after news broke that Hillary Clinton and the DNC funded the dossier on President Trump, reports reveal that one liberal mainstream network has close ties to Fusion GPS, the firm that composed the document.
What network is that, you ask?
You guessed it. CNN.
Per The Daily Caller, Fusion GPS has apparently been described in numerous Senate testimonies as specializing in manufactured, misleading media narratives against clients’ opposition.
And CNN justice correspondent Evan Perez reportedly keeps close ties to Fusion GPS and its founders.
Check it out:
GLENN SIMPSON, THE FUSION CO-FOUNDER MOST OFTEN ASSOCIATED WITH THE DOSSIER, IS USED TO WORKING ON STORIES WITH PEREZ. AS REPORTERS AT THE [WALL STREET] JOURNAL, PEREZ AND SIMPSON REGULARLY CO-AUTHORED STORIES ON NATIONAL SECURITY.
One of the other co-founders of Fusion, Tom Catan, was also a reporter at the Journal with Simpson and Perez.
And the third co-founder, Peter Fritsch, was their superior as senior national security editor.
In other words, these relationships long precede the media cover-up of democratic connections to the Trump dossier.
In fact, some of the guys can be seen together in photographs on Facebook—at a bar outside Nationals Park in Washington, for example.
And another photo of the group:
Another photo posted by Perez features he and Fritsch on an apparent fishing trip.
Perez, who has reported on the dossier for CNN, has never disclosed his friendships with the founders of the firm.
The Wall Street Journal pointed out all of these connections in a recent editorial:
“AMERICANS DON’T NEED A JUSTICE DEPARTMENT COVERUP ABETTED BY GLENN SIMPSON’S MEDIA BUDDIES.”
Numerous political and media operatives have described Fusion GPS as “highly paid smear experts.”
Thor Halversson, founder of the Human Rights Foundation, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that he was once a target of a Fusion smear campaign. His colleague, Alek Boyd, shared a similar experience.
“FUSION IS BASICALLY A PEN-FOR-HIRE SHOP, WHOSE OWNERS ARE PREPARED TO CONCOCT COMPLETELY SPURIOUS STORIES THAT ARE FED TO MEDIA CONTACTS DEVELOPED OVER YEARS OF LEGITIMATE WORK IN REPUTABLE OUTLETS,” BOYD TOLD THEDC.
When it comes down to it, though, didn’t we already know this about CNN?
The network can’t be trusted when it comes to Russia coverage, and this is just another bullet on the list of items that proves it.
