The national anthem protests have led the NFL to become one of the most divisive brands in the league. Ratings have plummeted, and fans have joined in on a massive boycott of the league. As a result, many stations have stopped showing the national anthem altogether.
Now, a poll has been conducted showing just how serious the boycott really is. The survey was conducted by Rasmussen Reports and shows that almost one-third of all adults are less likely to watch the NFL because of the national anthem protests. To make matters even worse for the NFL, only 13 percent of those surveyed said that they were more likely to watch the NFL after the protests.
Breaking the numbers down even further, 28 percent of African-Americans polled said they’re more likely to watch because of the protests, while only 8 percent of whites and 16 percent of minorities responded that way.

These numbers aren’t too surprising considering the steady drop in ratings since protests were taken to a level we hadn’t seen before following President Donald Trump’s comments toward those who chose to “disrespect” the flag.
One Facebook page called “Boycott The NFL” has over 250,000 followers and several videos, which have received millions of views, calling for the boycott of the league. One man named David Kent left a review of the page, saying:
I gave up the NFL after watching the first “kneel” this season. I am done; I thought it would bother me, but College Football keeps me entertained. They allowed this disrespect to go on too long. I don’t even watch the NFL on the news; I have no idea who’s leading, who’s losing, and don’t care one way or the other. I doubt they will listen until their paychecks disappear.
On Sunday, veterans were honored for Veterans Day weekend, but for many NFL fans, it will not change their decision to continue the boycotts.
