Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released seven pages of new texts on January 25 involving communications between known politically-biased FBI officials and adulterous paramours Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.
Upon reviewing the texts, Grassley is quoted by the Washington Examiner as commenting that they “raise serious concerns about the impartiality of senior leadership running both the [Hillary] Clinton and [President Donald] Trump investigations.”
In one text exchange, dated February 25, 2016, the two confer about the chances of being involved in questioning Hillary Clinton regarding her criminal use of a private email server.
Grassley releases more Strzok-Page texts. Judiciary chairman says one, from 2/25/16, suggests FBI ‘pulling punches in Clinton investigation.’ Grassley letter here
Strzok texts Page saying, “One more thing: she might be our next president. The last thing you need us going in there loaded for bear. You think she’s going to remember or care that it was more doj than fbi?”
Grassley also refers to another text exchange in which Strzok and Page seem to agree that FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe should recuse himself from the Hillary investigation, after it was revealed that his wife (who was running for Virginia State Senate) had accepted backing from Clinton-crony Terry MacAuliffe.
“[FBI chief of staff James] Rybicki just called to check in. He very clearly 100% believes that Andy should be recused because of the ‘perception,’” Page is shown to have texted.
Despite the suggestion, McCabe would stay on to continue meddling in the Hillary inquiry, no doubt shaping the lawless results we have all come to know.
Grassley’s actions give cause for the need to openly publish all the texts. It also gives serious credence to the call for an independent counsel to audit the practices of the corrupt FBI.
