The nation is in mourning this week after Barbara Bush passed away on Tuesday night at the age of 92. Now, Barbara’s “forbidden” final request has leaked to the public, and it may come as a surprise to you…
Mad World News reported that Barbara left the hospital on Monday knowing she was going to die, as she was refusing any further medical treatment for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). She had no fear of death, as she was forced to face it in the worst way possible back in 1953, when her daughter Robin passed away of leukemia.
Barbara Bush never got over the death of her 3 year old daughter Robin who passed away after a battle with leukemia. Below is some of what she wrote about her in her 1994 autobiography.

When Barbara got back to the Bush family home in Houston, Texas on Monday, she had a very surprising request.
“I want some bourbon,” Barbara said.
Bourbon was undoubtedly forbidden for Barbara given the medications she was taking, but nobody was going to step in and stop her from enjoying a glass of bourbon one last time. Though her COPD made it difficult for her to breathe, Barbara was alert and having conversations on Monday night as she enjoyed her last night on Earth with her family and a glass of bourbon!
She went out on her own terms, sipping bourbon, and in her home surrounded by her family.
Political disagreements aside, she was one hell of a lady.
RIP, Barbara Bush. This one is for you. pic.twitter.com/LdL1kWvWNQ

Even if not a Bush fan—
When the matriarch of the Bush clan
chooses not hospitalization
but home & family & bourbon…..
you gotta admit
Barbara Bush is transitioning
with love & dignity

I just read that in the hours before she passed, despite having trouble breathing, Barbara Bush sat up, drank a bourbon, and had one last chat with her loved ones. Bad ass.

So to recap: when faced with medical intervention or staring death right in its ugly face, Barbara Bush—though barely able to breathe—said, “Pass me a bourbon and let’s do this.”
What a lady. God bless her, and make more like her.#RIPBarbaraBush
