Breaking: School Shooting In Illinois, Suspect Stopped by Good Guy with a Gun

Breaking story out of Illinois about a high school shooting.

But initial reports suggest this is another one that liberals aren’t going to like.

Why? Because once again it blows their narrative.

It was stopped by a ‘good guy with a gun.’ And fortunately, it appears that no one other than the shooter was hurt, at least according to reports at this point.

From WQAD:

A subject brought a gun to Dixon High School and was shot by a school resource officer this morning, according to a media release sent by City Manager Danny Langloss. Sauk Valley Media is reporting that the suspect is a 19-year-old former student of the school.

The shooting happened around 8:00 a.m. when a confrontation between the subject and a school resource officer resulted in an exchange of gunfire. According to the release, the officer returned fire after he was shot at, injuring the subject. The student’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

This is a link to the 911 recording of the call into the police of shots being fired at the school.

According to a student at the school, the school resource officer, Mark Dallas shot the suspect after he was shot at by him.

According to the DHS website, the SRO position was originaly funded by the COPS federal grant to help prevent school violence.

No students or staff were injured in the incident. The Dixon High School and all Dixon Public Schools are on lockdown. Dixon Police believe the suspect acted alone and that there is no further threat to the safety of students or staff.

The question, of course, is what was a former student doing at the school with a gun? And it remains to be seen yet how he got the gun in heavily gun-controlled Illinois and whether he obtained it legally or illegally.

But had it not been for the armed school resource officer, many others may have been hurt or killed, showing once again the importance of having armed security at schools and blowing a hole in the liberal gun-grabber narrative.
