National Guard Storms Mexico Border, Makes Show-Stopping Impact In 30 Days

Our border continues to be a significant security problem. Without the wall, illegals can come and go as they please.

There are only so many border agents. They can’t be everywhere. Even with improvements like modern technology, the massive border is frequently exploited by criminals. Drug cartels, murderers, and terrorists find new ways of slipping through.

Since Congress has refused to act, Trump is taking action. His order to send National Guardsmen to the border was met with criticism. What hasn’t he done that critics complain about?

With National Guard at the border, we have significant help in protecting our national security. Guardsmen can provide strategic aid, advanced tools, and plenty of legwork. This means our Border Patrol aren’t stuck out in the wind without help. Over time, this can mean big things.

But, surprise, surprise, the National Guard is making a huge impact. After only a month.

From Washington Examiner:

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers have apprehended an additional 1,600 people attempting to illegally enter the country from Mexico since April 15 as a result of the deployment of National Guard troops to the southwest border, CBP and defense officials said Wednesday.

National Guard officials overseeing the border state deployments said troops helping monitor the international boundary have freed up more border agents to physically guard the border. The result has led to a surge in the amount of criminal activity agents have stopped.

The increased surveillance and communication between guardsmen and border officers also led to CBP intercepting an additional 451 people who were turned back before illegally entering the U.S.

Those numbers could tick up considerably if the 4,000 National Guard troops President Trump approved on April 4 are called on in a future request from CBP.

Criminals will always try to cross our border. At times, they will be very aggressive. The drug trade thrives by shipping product into the U.S. Drug cartels aren’t going to just give up. Add to that the coyotes who smuggle people into America. Thanks to them, human trafficking and sex trafficking is alive and well.

Of course, the liberal media refuses to cover that.

Border Patrol is already spread thin. It took a huge push by the National Guard to allow them to actually protect the border. With guardsmen carrying some of the burden, border agents can patrol, monitor entry points, and apprehend illegals.

But for how long? The National Guard can’t stay there forever. And criminal aliens will never quite. Unless we have a permanent barrier, this will never change.
